NO, I am not talking about a six pack or a bikini body.
I am talking about the real stuff, the one that matter.
If you ask me, summer it's a time for more living, more laughter, more connection and if you are lucky enough, a few breathtaking sunsets too.
In 30 to 40 years time I hope you can relish memories of summer holidays with your loved ones, laughter with friends, of how good was that gelato you ate was and happy you were while eating it.
It's so easy to lose sight of what is really important.
It's so easy to live life on someone else's terms.
It's so easy to get mad at ourselves for that kg that we haven't lost before summer.
It's so easy to compare, to judge and not be present.
If you find yourself in these lines I see you, I have been there too. Sometimes I still am (reality check).
But I have learnt along the way that life is worth living to its fullest potential, that everyday is a precious gift and that it's too short to be waisting our time not being truly happy within ourselves.
I hope this summer you don't hold back doing the things you love most, but if you do, I am here for you.
THE REAL SUMMER ESSENTIALS
1. Outdoor Adventures:
Take advantage of the beautiful weather (not so much if you live in London like me) and explore the great outdoors.
Whether it's hiking, biking, swimming in the sea or simply taking a leisurely walk in nature, spending time outside can rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul.
2. Connect with Loved Ones:
Summer is the perfect time to reconnect with family and friends.
Plan a backyard barbecue, organize a picnic in the park, or gather around a bonfire under the starry sky.
Engage in meaningful conversations, share laughter, and create cherished memories with your loved ones.
3. Try New Hobbies:
Use this summer as an opportunity to explore new hobbies or rediscover old ones.
Whether it's painting, gardening, cooking, or learning to play a musical instrument, let your creativity flow and embrace the joy of trying something new.
You might discover hidden talents or find a new passion along the way!
4. Unplug and Recharge:
While technology has its perks, it's important to take a break from screens and truly immerse yourself in the present moment.
Disconnect from the virtual world and reconnect with yourself and your surroundings.
Spend time in quiet contemplation, practice mindfulness, or simply enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
5. Embrace the Culinary Delights:
Summer is a gastronomic delight with an abundance of fresh fruits, vibrant vegetables, and delicious seasonal seasonal treats.
Explore local farmer's markets, try out new recipes, or indulge in your favorite summer desserts.
Let your taste buds savor the flavors of the season!
So, dear reader, let this summer be filled with living life to the fullest, finding joy in the simplest of moments, and strengthening the bonds of connection.
Embrace the warmth, the sunshine, and the endless possibilities that this season brings.
